Sighting Description: A Hammond's Flycatcher was in the Price Sculpture Forest. An empid with a small bill and a short tail that was dipping constantly. Confirmed by Merlin App.
Also Evening Grosbeaks and 2-3 Townsend's Warblers.
Location: Price Sculpture Forest east of Coupeville at the junction of the 2 trails.

Sighting Description: Large flock (apron 40) Black Oystercatchers. Saw and videoed them from the water. There are lots of Black Turnstones now on the several rafts and we saw 2 Surf birds.

Sighting Description: There are multiple flocks of Cackling Geese in the Crockett's Lake/Ebey's Prairie area. We're hearing them after dark from our home in Coupeville. Check the lake in the late afternoon.

Confirmation: Much smaller than adjacent female Rufous and Anna’s. Shorter bill. Streaked throat. Green back. Buffy underparts.

Sighting Description: Nashville Warbler
Location: Greenbrier Lane, Langley
Confirmation: Hovering around suet feeder. Prominent white eyering. Grey head and nape. Bright yellow ventral surface extending to throat and undertail coverts.
Adjacent to large flock of Red-breasted Nuthatches. At least 10 in one Douglas-fir. One poked a Steller’s Jay in the back. Jay fled. Nice work, Shorty!
At least 4 Swainson’s Thrushes calling in the understory.

Sighting Description: 5 tufted puffins flying low over water in tight formation, flying west to east past Shore Meadows (Mutiny Bay). Seen by 2 PGU shore meadows surveyors (Sego and Diane) at 8:15. I tried to report in real time from my phone but mistyped or it autocorrected to "rusted puffins" so the report was rejected. Having just been the day before on Sound Water Stewards' excellent Smith and Minor Islands trip to see puffins, etc., I was shocked to see them in Mutiny Bay area and wonder what they were doing there.

Sighting Description: Adult turkey vulture (no visible tags) feeding on rabbit roadkill, ~
30 ft from car. It was cautious of the car, & flew away before capturing a photo.
